25 Bicycle Tours in the Savannah and Carolina Low Country : From Hilton Head to the Okefenokee. Very useful and friendly - especially to a yankee. Published by Thriftbooks. com User, 8 years ago. Thanks to the guide, we went the the best entrance to the Okeefenokee, and had a great time. We were visiting on St. Simons Island for a week and used that as our base of operations. The guide provided some great ideas for out of the way, picturesque routes, with fewer miscues and oversights than I'm used to with this.

Thanks to the guide, we went to the best entrance to the Okeefenokee, and had a great time.
Some of the reviews are a bit optimistic about the quality of the bicycle paths and traffic conditions, but in general I found it a very readable, friendly guide to the area. We were visiting on St. Simons Island for a week and used that as our base of operations. The guide provided some great ideas for out of the way, picturesque routes, with fewer miscues and oversights than I'm used to with this kind of guide. Some more subtle and out-of-the-way routes in Savanna would be nice - I'm sure they're there.
Overall, it was definitely worth the price and added value to our bicycling vacation.

Nice book with good rides for those of us who are between casual sight see-ers and hard-core cyclists. The details about the rides were also nicely peppered with antecdotes that helped me form a picture of each ride.
