What a fantastic, photo filled book! Looked at the photos oftentimes while writing my own book "The Sharp Edge of Survival".. which is about the Continental Divide Trail. And this brought back the memories, let me tell you!

This is an extraordinary book! The photography of the hike from Mexico to Canada along the continental divide is fabulous! Author Michael robbins writing is quite good, and there are plenty of stories of adventures and mishaps along the way. I strongly recommend it.

I've been up and down the Rocky Mountains from N.M. to Montana during the past twelve years and I thoroughly enjoyed this account. I enjoyed the book enough to send a copy to a friend in Durango and another that lives just outside of Glacier Ntl. Park. Both said the book was spot on.

Even though somewhat dated, the book will bring back memories or help with trip planning.

Older book and dated. But much of the info was still good and the photography are what make this book! Wow! If you are preparing to hike the CDT and wish to "see" what it is like this book is a good one to get ahold of and look through. I intended to only look throgh the photos but on my 3rd time through (no kidding the photos are stuffing) I had to start reading and read I did! wish I could take it with [email protected]
