College g Functions: A Graphing Approach (with CD-ROM and iLrn) Out of Print-Limited Availability. Prime Book Box for Kids. Story time just got better with Prime Book Box, a subscription that delivers hand-picked children’s books every 1, 2, or 3 months. I took this class after a 12-year hiatus from math. I don't remember pre-algebra very well at all. This book assumes not only that you remember pre-algebra, it also assumes that you can jump to conclusions about algebra itself. It briefly describes each function and then jumps into equations that have much more difficult concepts. I needed to get extra help multiple times from friends, and when they consulted the book also, they too decided that it was useless.

Gareth Williams received his B. Sc. and P. from the University of Wales. He has taught at the University of Florida, the University of Denver, and most recently, at Stetson University (DeLand, FL), where he was honored with the McInery Award for Teaching Excellence.

These experienced authors have been praised for their in-depth explanations and their commitment to avoiding a cookbook approach. Their text addresses three critical issues in teaching precalculus: poor student preparation, the need for thoughtful integration of the graphing calculator, and poor student study skills. Their texts have a strong reputation built on mathematically sound presentation, excellent applications, and on challenging students to develop algebraic, graphical, and verbal mathematical skills.

This includes BCA/iLrn Testing and Tutorial, vMentor live online tutoring, the Interactive Video Skillbuilder CD-ROM with MathCue, a Book Companion Web Site featuring online graphing calculator resources, WebTutor Toolbox for WebCT and Blackboard, and The Learning Equation (TLE), powered by BCA/iLrn. TLE provides a complete courseware package, featuring a diagnostic tool that gives instructors the capability to create individualized study plans. With TLE, a cohesive, focused study plan can be put together to help each student succeed in math.
