I am an undergraduate freshman student and I was taking Calculus 2 and 3 in my first semester. Unfortunately all the books cost super expensive and so I was happy to find out there exists this one, where both courses were contained in 1. The book also contains Calculus 1, which is nice in case I will need to refresh something from my memory.

Luckily, I came to love this book. I think this is one of the best Calculus intro books I came across. Content is written in a very organized way: clear, engaging and understandable. After every section there are plenty of exercises for a review. The wide range of examples let the reader follow and get acquainted to the problem solving strategies and wide range of exercises let practice the newly obtained skills.

Of course, all the material for the calculus courses can easily be found online for free, but for my classes, purchase of the book was required, so I did not have an option anyways. The price this seller offers made me insanely happy, since in most places it costs over 300$. I choose to buy a used one, but it looked like completely new and unused.
I've used this for both my Calc 1 and Calc 2 class. I believe I got it for less than 10 dollars, which is a heck of a deal compared to what it was going to cost me from my campus bookstore. Sometimes the best prices for textbooks are from Amazon. Also, having the half priced prime is super beneficial because I get the books in 2 days!

Anyways, this book contains a lot of information. It covers everything from calc 1 to calc 3. The book explains things clearly, so I think it's good for anyone interested in learning Calculus.
If you're a STEM major, you'll be hard-pressed to find a more clear and concise intro to calculus. This is THE book to read if math makes you apprehensive -- if you read it carefully and thoroughly it's very difficult to get lost, even if you "suck" at math. The examples have full explanations and are relevant to the problem sets. There's adequate build-up without cumbersome formalism for the bigger ideas. An all-round great book for beginners.

With that said, if you're looking for something more rigorous and thorough, I would suggest Spivak (which is a great second-read, imo.).

In an upper division class one of my professors (somewhat) jokingly said we're spoiled because we learned calculus with Briggs, I couldn't agree more.
I used this book for 3 semesters of calculus. I found the book to be very useful, I was even able to skip lectures and just read the book to figure out what to do.

The ideas are presented coherently and generally have lots of examples and graphics to help you understand. That being said, this is a difficult topic to learn, especially in the beginning, so you should do the homework at the end of each section if you want to succeed and truly learn the material.

This book has several trig ideas inside the front cover that you need to learn and master in Calc 1, do yourself a favor and memorize them in the beginning.
Using this as a textbook for a math class. IT DOES NOT INCLUDE THE MATHLAB ACCESS CODE. Covers numerous semesters/quarters of calculus, so this may be the only book you will need for math. This is all I use aside from attending lectures. Very useful practice! There are answers for odd problems in the back of the book.
Came as expected with the new mymathlab code. Book came in brand new, saran-wrapped and all. I was a bit weary about getting scammed and receiving a used Mymathlab code. I turned to Amazon since Chegg didn't meet my expectations. Price was pretty fair, but the one day shipping rocked.
This is without a doubt the worst textbook I have ever had. I was a BC calculus student in highschool and so used to a different book(Hoesteller?). It actually made sense, and was a viable resource for when I got stuck on a problem or a concept. In this book however, virtually nothing in it is useful. At least in the later chapters it is not. (Cal 2 and Cal 3 subject matter begin halfway through the book.) Whether it's applications of integration such as pumping water from an odd shaped tank, or taking a basic line integral all this book serves to do is provide a formula to be referenced. The examples are typically very trivial, and walk you through problems that were already intuitive, and then say NOTHING about how to approach a more complicated problem. For instance, all of the line integral examples involve easily parameterized paths such as a semi circle, but then it does not show you how to approach a problem where the path is the petal of a rose graph.

My advice, is to get a different book and simply use the eBook or borrow a friend's when specific problems are needed.
I took my class online for calc 1 and 2, chapters 1-10. For those of you looking to comprehend the material through the book primarily, i would DEFINITELY advise you to use the solutions manual. It is your best friend in calculus. Do every problem. Look at the step by step solution (i used the chegg online version by the way, im assuming the ppublished copy of the solutions manual has step-by-step as well). If youre looking to learn on youre own, dont waste your money, just use the free online resources that are almost littering the internet.
