Battlestar Galactica Classic - 01. Glen A. Larson &. From the adama journals: More than a thousand years ago, the war with the Cylons began abruptly-without warning, without even a formal declaration that war was to be. Like pirates, showing no threats and cowering beneath false colors, the Cylons opened fire on our merchant ships without even an invocation to heave to, or a cautionary blast from a laser cannon. They came to destroy, and they destroyed our ships by the thousands. There was a popular superstition aboard the Galactica that, when the commander became angry, those powerful eyes retreated into his skull and gave off rays that made him look so inhuman he might have just materialized as a god from some new alien mythology. Although tall and strong, he had none of the muscular man’s typical clumsiness in normal movement.

The story arc that started with #11 and #12 finally comes to a conclusion (mostly) with the Spectre, Baltar, and Lucifer attempting to sabotage the Battlestar Galactica. Very well written, it is a completely new story, and it's fun to see the old characters back in action. Spectre is a fantastic character and never stops scheming against even his fellow Cylons and I.L. Series Lucifer. Some interesting things occur in this novel, and the ending is not what you would have expected. I almost wish they could have continued the story from this point, but it would have been difficult to say the least.

i read this book a number of years ago the story telling is basic and the book itself is a quick read however in the last four books of this series croft is expanded on and the conflict he has with apollo over sheba is a great triangle croft wants commander cains daughter bad but all she has eyes for is apollo which leads to some great conflict about elitism and the luck of being adamas son this is a novel based on the tv series not one of the episodes that aired recommend for bsg fans
