Cherish this Moment (Harlequin Superromance No. 213). I read this book when it was first published. I wanted to read it again to remind me how much I enjoyed this author who died several years ago. The author suffered from debilatating rhuematoid authritis and so does the heroine in this book. She falls for a famous NFL quarterback, the very essense of health and energy. She thinks that marriage is a "drastic" step and wants to leave the "door open" for Patrick if he so desires to leave her. Patrick is hurt by this and tries to convince her otherwise. Eventually, they both realize that they love and need each other and finally marry.

Harlequin everlasting love. Go on and leave, Savannah. I hope to God you never come back. But she had come back-only to discover that if a person didn’t kill all those feelings for an old love, they would remain dormant until one summer day years later, they broke through like spring grass, changing your perspective. He had no one but himself to blame for the sudden shock of seeing Savannah Greer. He could’ve driven past the parking lot when he’d caught sight of the Illinois plates. He could’ve put off the encounter until he paid his respects at her father’s funeral tomorrow.

Prequel to the Luchetti series, and by far my favorite of the 8 books! There is just something about an 8 year old boy that never fails to warm my heart! Each book has a good story w/loveable characters & interesting, fun plots.

Lori Handleman currently writes vampire stories, but Leave It to Max is a romance set in Savannah, GA. Max's mother is an unimaginative mother with a son who lives in his world of the undead, enjoying the stories his grandmother tells about the ghosts of Savannah's past. There are many momemts of fun as Livy's past rises up to throw her out of sync. Between a coffin and a trained goose, there is a wonderful, heartwarming story. This is one book that is permanent in my library. A wonderful re-read. Had to buy this copy as I misplaced or lost the original.

A wonderful addition to any Lori Handeland shelf. Fans will find this one easy and entertaining. If you enjoy the Superomance line then you'll certainly enjoy this one.

Max is a remarkable eight-year-old boy whose imagination and clumsy feet keep him in trouble. Max doesn't mean to forget he's grounded when he wanders off to follow the wind or a whim, he just forgets. Livy loves her son, but doesn't have a clue as to how to cultivate the magic that lies within her child. By trying to keep him safe from broken bones she crushes his flights of imagination. In trying to make him like other little boys, she fights against what makes him special -- his uniqueness. His father shares the same uniqueness. So when Max unknowingly brings his father home, after almost nine years of leaving Livy, his mother must confront the magic her son and former lover share, accepting the past and her own vulnerabilities.
Where once Garret knew Livy intimately and completely understood her, now she simply leaves him confused. She was the first person to offer him love, and not knowing how to love back, or believing himself worthy, he had run. But from the first moment Garret saw Max, he knew there was something special about the child. There had been an instant connection, a deep recognition of himself within the boy -- "perhaps that magic he and Max believed in so deeply." When Garret came to Savannah, Georgia, he thought he pursued the muse that inspired his previous books. Now he's coming to understand he needs so much more.
Lori Handeland's marvelous voice combines irreverence, romance, and amusement to create a memorable read. These richly developed characters combine eccentricity and realism to keep the reader amused even as their foibles present their hidden fears and vulnerabilities. Equally remarkable are the wonderful secondary characters, each carefully crafted, especially the frequently jailed grandma and the stolen goose, which kept me in stitches. Very highly recommended.
