Warrant for Love by Sheryl Browne

Blackmail, lies, adultery, heartache. Three Love stories wrapped up in one sexiliciously hilarious package. Disillusioned in life and love, boy-in-blue PC Paul Davis is moody, broody and not great relationship material  . This is a fantastic romantic comedy with a superb supporting cast.

But what I can say is that Sheryl’s writing just gets better with each book I read by her. Here, I can think of seven characters I absolutely loved and although there were a lot of people in this book, they were all built up really well and nothing felt missing. As we’re brought the story through Leanne, Paul, Jade and Nicky’s perspective, the flow is still kept perfectly and there’s no confusion or struggles to keep up when the book switches in character. As typical in a Sheryl Browne novel, there is tremendous character development, heartache, humor, and love. The characters (from the main characters to love interests to the children in their lives) are multifaceted and believable. I absolutely loved this book.

Sheryl Browne is exceptional at her character development and this reader could easily relate to all three women and their loves and exes. loved to hate him as I read. Paul was a copper who lacked communication prowess, but he was solid and loyal and knew what he wanted. Warrant for Love has three love stories wrapped up in one neat package. Lee, Nicky, and Jade are three friends who are willing to do anything for each other and God help any man who messes with one, because he will surely incur the wrath of all three. The story centers primarily around Lee, a single mother who is down on her luck financially and romantically.

by Sheryl Browne ) Love, blackmail, lies, adultery, entrapment. Three couples in a twisting story that resolves perfectly. Life for Paul sounds like your typical country song. He comes from a broken home, his wife is divorcing him, he's got no place to live, he's losing custody of his son, and his sergeant, who's sleeping with his wife, is a loud-mouthed braggart who won't let up on him – not even at work. Leanne's caught her (now) ex cheating on her again, but before she can give him the what-for, she's. Blackmail, lies, adultery, entrapment. Will it all work out in the end or will Paul uphold the law? It sounds like he needs a Warrant for Love.

A commitment-shy bad boy living on a houseboat may have finally found a woman he wants to build a real home with. Living on a gently rocking houseboat, sexy Adam Hamilton-Shaw is a magnet to the women of Worcestershire. When two frazzled parents join forces-and families-they don't just fall in love. they get along like a house on fire. In a small English village like Hibberton, neighbors help each other in time of need. But when Andrea Kelly's house burns down-taking all her worldly possessions with it-it's a complete surprise when the usually distant and aloof Doctor David Adams offers to take her in. Even more surprising is his willingness to open his door not just to her, but to her three squabbling kids and daffy elderly mother as well.

Blackmail, lies, adultery, heartache.

Warrant for Love - Blackmail, lies, adultery, heartache.

Leanne Curtis has shared more than her heart and her home with her womanising man. She's shared her pin number. The scales are peeled painfully from her eyes when she spots female footprints on the inside windscreen of his car. Devastated, Leanne storms off into the night. He wasn't going to pay her back when he sold his flat, his bolthole, his shag-pad, probably, the absolute...! Shivering on a street corner, Leanne comes up with a survival plan. She's no choice. If she's to keep her son in PS3s, Leanne needs a lodger. Brought up in care, Police Constable Paul Davis doesn't communicate well. On duty, he's gloomily contemplating his impending divorce. His wife sleeping with his sergeant is not helping his morose mood. His sergeant has a history, and Paul needs to find somewhere decent to live in order to gain custody of his son, fast. And to keep his job. Wrongfully arresting Leanne Curtis for soliciting, he muses, whilst avoiding five-star-freezer looks from her friends, might not be the best way to do it. Could fate have brought them together, though? Leanne needs a respectable lodger. Paul needs a home. One thing leads to another, and Paul can't quite believe his luck. When a blackmail plot ~ cooked up by Leanne's friends ~ threatens their budding relationship, however, is Paul compelled to uphold the law? Or will he risk everything to make sure Leanne's abusive ex gets his comeuppance? Warrant for Love is not your typical rom-com where only one gal gets the guy - Sheryl Browne brings together three couples in a twisting story that resolves perfectly. With a focus on romance with police officers, Warrant for Love appeals to all readers who love our boys in blue. Complex yet everyday relationship problems makes this read appropriate for young adults and older teens.

Leeanne Curtis, her sister Nicky, and their friend Jade have one thing in common. They have rocky relationships with men. Lee is a pleaser, Nicky a shouter, and Jade a tough cookie, keeping men at arm's length, lest they break her heart.
Both Nicky and Jade, in spite of being the worst people to give advice, try to help Lee get rid of Richard, a smooth operator who has taken advantage of Lee's kind heart and depleted her bank account.
Hovering in the wings we have PC Paul Davis who has troubles of his own. After he arrests Lee for soliciting, Paul realizes his mistake, and although it's love at first sight for him, Lee wants no part of him. Paul's world is turned upside down as he tries to court Lee.
The easy folksy language used in this novel fits perfectly with the lives of the characters. Lee's son uses exactly the kind of lingo one would expect a teenager to use. In very few words we can glean that he wants to come across as macho but is really a very caring person.
Sheryl Browne works the relationships of all the characters in her novel skilfully. We are constantly exasperated and want to jump into the book to tell one character or another to smarten up and listen to the other person, to give them a chance. Bad timing, written into the book expertly, keeps the love situations of all three women at a frustration level, but Browne throws in a few surprises and resolves each of the relationships to bring the book to a satisfying close.

Leanne Curtis is about as unlucky in love as one girl can get and her slime-ball boyfriend, Richard, leaves her standing alone in a bad part of town where she's picked up for solicitation. She's taken to the station by Officer Paul Davis who tends to follow Leanne's every move with his George Clooney eyes.

The story not only involves the romance of Leanne and Paul but also of Leanne's sister, Nicky, and their best friend, Jade. Nicky and Jade rescue Leanne from the police station after the charges are dropped and the three of them decide they'll fix Richard once and for all for not repaying Leanne the money she fronted him for his business.

All works out in the end for all three women, the men in their lives, and each other but there are some very interesting twists and turns in the story that will have you flipping pages right until the end.

This is one of Sheryl's best offerings. It is a bit racy - a little more explicit than her other two books, but well worth the read. She has developed as a writer and well on her way to many successes.

Likable characters and a steady story line make this a pleasant read. The characters believable with their share of flaws and insecurities.

Well worth the read, Warrant for Love told the story of two sisters and their friend--LeeAnn, Nicky and Jade. These were strong women who were dealing with the different men in their lives and on occasion taking each other's business in hand to straighten it out. Sheryl Browne is exceptional at her character development and this reader could easily relate to all three women and their loves and exes. Richard was the epitome of sleaze...loved to hate him as I read. Paul was a copper who lacked communication prowess, but he was solid and loyal and knew what he wanted. Steve was a misunderstood husband, torn between his wife and an ailing mother. Last was Saun, a business man with eyes only for Jade, but things happened at the wrong time and place, causing doubt and distrust to almost ruin a perfect life.

It was a fun story with children adding complications, an ex wife sharing the white knight in blue, teenagers thrusting angst into the mix and lots of misunderstandings and sorting out for all. Truly an enjoyable read once I could pull the book out and read at my leisure. Ms Browne is a master of words and characterization with a quick wit and humor to boot!

I was given a copy of this book by the author or their representatives in exchange for an honest review.

Another amazing book by Sheryl Browne. I'd like to say this one is my favorite, though I suspect my favorite Sheryl Browne book is whichever one I've most recently finished.

She meets Paul, a cop who has problems of his own. Nicky, a married mother of three, has troubles of her own - a teenage daughter intent of driving her nuts and a husband who has become emotionally distant. And, then there's Jade, a gorgeous, successful business woman, who guards her own heart as carefully as she watches over her friends.

The plot is complex and fast-paced as the story moves from the lead female characters to Paul and back again. As typical in a Sheryl Browne novel, there is tremendous character development, heartache, humor, and love. The characters (from the main characters to love interests to the children in their lives) are multifaceted and believable. I absolutely loved this book.
