Spiritual fitness is a process, a pursuit. One thing I can tell you about spiritual fitness is this–from personal experience I know that when my soul gets fitter I experience more peace, less stress. When I am growing in spiritual fitness I feel stronger mentally and emotionally so I can face the challenges of the day-whether it is active little ones or something much harder than that. And just like physical fitness, spiritual fitness is a daily, ongoing process. We get weaker spiritually when we don’t focus on it. This is a fact about spiritual fitness

Designed to target specific body parts, these moves don't require any specialist equipment  . Keep your shoulders relaxed, back straight, head in line with your spine, elbows tucked in to your body and your wrists straight. Exhale as you raise the weights up towards your shoulders. Hold briefly before lowering the weights slowly back down. Lie on the floor with knees bent and feet flat on the floor. Hold 3-4 books with both hands at about chest level.

It's no surprise, then, that many people around the world use art as a means to deal with stress, trauma and unhappiness – or to just find greater peace and meaning in their lives. If you're curious about what art therapy has to offer, you can try out some of these great solo exercises at home to help nurse your mind, body and soul back to health. If you like the experience, you can also seek out professional art therapy treatment in your area.

Physical Fitness & Spirituality. Aerobic exercises combined with strength training are a body’s best friend. Physical activity keeps you lean, fit, and strong to do everyday practices. So whether that be helping a struggling stranger lift an object, run a 5k to beat cancer, or volunteer on your feet all day, we all need endurance to engage in our own spiritual practices. A healthy body will encourage one to live out a spiritual life filled with action and integrity. Mindfully eating can have a major impact on our bodies and mind. Lack of spiritual connection to self and others, self-destructive behaviors, and isolation from others in life may contribute hormonal imbalances which will inevitably manifest as illness in the body. Some ways to keep your hormones in check include regular exercise and having a healthy, balanced diet.

In recent years, there has been a renewed emphasis on the Spiritual Exercises as a program for laypeople. The most common way of going through the Exercises now is a retreat in daily life, which involves a monthslong program of daily prayer and meetings with a spiritual director.
