The Education of Oversoul 7 by Jane Roberts

Sequel to: The education of Oversoul Seven. I am especially partial to Jane Roberts and her thinking. I am looking forward to reading the third part of this trilogy.

Although I first read "The Education of Oversoul Seven" in the early 80's, it was a treat for me to find the trilogy and to read/reread this work by Jane Roberts and Seth. Spoiler alert) The illustration of parallel lives in parallel universes or parallel times I find fascinating.

Oversoul Seven is: MA-AH-a beautiful young black woman who lived in 35,000 . JOSEF-a seventeenth-century painter and lay about. I inherited this book in a collection of science fiction novels from an out-of business bookstore, and sci-fi is definately wh Based on the teachings of Seth! Seth is apparently a spirit - or oversoul, I guess- who communicated with the author, Jane Roberts, in a psychic fashion. The Books of Seth are transcripts of her conversations with Seth. Jane Roberts was a first for me in the discovery of self. I insatiably read each and every Jane Roberts book I could find. This book in particular is wonderful as it spells out the progression of spirit in a fictionalized manner with basis in the Seth Speaks books. It was written in story-form to help readers understand the overall teaching of Seth.

I loved this book. I don't know if Jane Roberts really did channel Seth, but I do know that the thoughts and theory in this book are really interesting. My boyfriends Dad gave me this book a few months after my own Dad passed away. At the time I was only 23 and really confused about life and death. Somehow the usual sayings "He's in a better place", "He's at peace now", "He's with God", just weren't enough for me...it was my Dad, I was always a Daddy's girl and I wanted to know where he was/where he went. Although, 5 years later, I still don't have any answers I can say that this book gave me some peace. I remember finishing the book and thinking....if this is how the "afterlife" really is, I'm ok with that. And I know I will think about this book for the rest of my life.

I also have to say, some of the parts are really complicated/confusing and I found myself just pushing through. But all in all this is a very unique book. I have been wanting to read it again and I'm curious whether my overall opinion will be different this time around being that my mind is in a totally different place now.

Either way, I highly recommend it to anyone with an open mind on matters of life, death and the afterlife. I have already bought copies for a couple of my relatives and they also enjoyed it. Everyone says it, "really got them thinking".

This book has been around for a long time. As a novel, it is really quite horribly written. As an informative story, it is awe inspiring. A long time ago, I was reading this book for the first time. For whatever reason, I was enthralled with it. At about 3AM, I remember reading a particular part (about Lydia) and how "reincarnation works"...and I found myself in a spontaneous scream of aaaahaaaa! The information clicked in such a way that my life was changed from that moment. It was thrilling. I walked around in a state of transmutation for weeks.

As aforementioned, Jane Roberts is not a novelist per se...however she wrote this story in such a way that it can be consciousness shattering and renewing. It will stay in my library forever.

Thank you. I've loved this book since the late 70s. I never thought I have a first edition. I originally bought this for a friend who might not even read it. So I'm keeping this one and buying her another.

This book is a wonderful introduction to the spiritual realms. It's not a complicated story and it will surely not intimidate an early explorer.

It's also a great novel for those who have been around. :)

The first time I picked up this book in the 1970's I could not get past the first paragraph as It felt strange..

AMAZINGLY, 2 weeks later, I could NOT put it down until it was read completely in one sitting.

Why the difference? Whatever occurred in that two week period, I do not know, but since then it's been read numerous times, always with a new awakening.

IF your reaction to the book is negative- you are not ready. Put it on the shelf. In other Seth writings we learn our consciousness evolves moment by moment (although not taught that generally.) Seth's books are a type of resource that when you are ready, they have meaning. When you are not, they will not. But when you are ready - WOW!!!

Enjoy! There is ALWAYS a copy in our home library.

This book is the first of a triad: (2nd "The Further Education of Oversoul Seven"; 3rd: "The Museum of Time" for there is linkage in the series, well hidden. YOU, the reader, need time to discover it. Do not expect any of the series to read like a novel.

Not bad, but not as good as I expected as a reader of the 1st three Seth books.

This is a wonderful book!. I have read somewhere before that 'the past, the present and the future all happen at the same time' and I could not wrap my brain around that idea!! until I read this book!!. I'm not crazy about this author, and I think [not sure] this was her first book; well she did great w/ this book!! Could not put it down! I have given this book away as a gift many times!! Wonderful and entertaining!

This is one of my all time favorites.I would recommend it to anyone. This is the book that first opened my eyes to the possibility of the otherworldly
Amusing and intriguing. There is a quality to to how the characters experience different realities that I find attractive. Dreamlike states like in psychedelic states coupled to a very down to earth story with distinct pesonalities. I will definitely buy the last book in this series of three books.
