Edgar Cayce: A Seer Out of Season by Harmon H. Bro

In "A Seer Out of Season," Dr. Harmon Bro portrays Cayce as a man with extraordinary psychic gifts, but also a human being, warts and all. That's what I liked best about the book. For the first time, I could relate to Cayce as a real person, not an overblown myth. In my opinion, this is the best Cayce biography on the market. This is NOT a debunking book. Bro personally worked with Cayce for almost a year in 1944, and retains a deep, abiding respect for "The Sleeping Prophet. He accepts the reality of Cayce's abilities, and continues to study the Readings.

Harmon s widow, June Bro, also worked with Edgar Cayce; June currently lives near and volunteers at Edgar Cayce s nonprofit . There is much that is beautiful in A Seer Out of Season; however, it is unfortunate that Dr. Bro had not developed critical thinking skills regarding Cayce before writing this book. Instead he toots Cayce’s horn quite well, so he doesn’t help people separate the good from the malevolent in The Information.

Harmon Bro writes with increasing sensitivity of feeling as his book unfolds, the best material carefully saved for the final third of the book which weighs heavily on Cayce's personal life and struggles. Surely I will remember, if nothing else, the many moving stories, such as Casey's experience in a jail cell after being arrested on a charge of healing without a license.

Millions worldwide have turned to the writings of Edgar Cayce for advice on holistic medicine and spiritual growth. Drawing from his experience as Cayce's longtime associate, Dr. Harmon Bro has written the first-ever full-length biography of the gifted spiritualist

He was ordained a minister in the Christian Disciples of Christ Church before serving as associate professor of religion and psychology at George Williams College in Chicago.

In Gina Cerminaras book ‘’Many Mansions’’ (1950), written with a forward by Cayce’s son Hugh Lynn Cayce, she clearly states the correct pronunciation of the name at the start of chapter 2. The mispronunciation of the name of an historical figure is not the trivial matter you seem to think it is. Lumos3 22:03, 12 Dec 2004 (UTC). I'm more familiar with Many Mansions by Gina Cerminara.
