org – made the invitation irresistible ). Here, he rehearses cogent arguments against the existence of God but, unlike many convinced non-believers, he is sensitive to the limits of secularism, reflecting that the ideas of God and eternity can seem uniquely to address a seriousness without which life is in danger of being two-dimensional .
Why did he create us? When you make something, you have a reason for making it. But does the world as we know it give an adequate answer to that question? Only in Christ can the purpose of creation be achieved. There were hints and pointers in the Old Testament that marriage was like the relation of God and his people. But only when Christ came did the mystery of marriage get spelled out in detail. It is meant to be a portrait of Christ’s covenant with his people, his commitment to the church
Human imagination and creativity is a key that unlocks the mystery of our true origins and our future. If you think about it, even the scientists hypothesizing about man’s origins use imagination and creative thinking. In his book The Incredible Human Potential, Herbert Armstrong explained, Man, to be born ultimately into the very God Family, was designed to have godly-type mind-ability to think, to reason, to make choices and decisions, capable of forming ethical, moral and spiritual attitudes. Feel free to request a free copy of this amazing book. Man was created with a mind like God’s, only much inferior. The confusion created short-circuited man’s creative advance to self-destruction.
You’re out to lunch with someone you’ve known for a few years. Together you’ve held parties, celebrated birthdays, visited parks and bonded over your mutual love of ice cream. You’ve even been on holiday together. In all, they’ve spent quite a lot of money on you – roughly £63,224. Intriguingly, however, he was still able to learn other kinds of information – just like babies.
In reality, each human being is a genome. You received-or became-your genome at conception. The instant your father’s sperm with its 23 chromosomes paired with your mother’s 23 chromosomes in a fertilized egg, something unique and totally new was created-you! You started life as a single cell. It is both a substance and an instructional blueprint for every one of the 100 trillion cells making up all body tissue. DNA directs each component of the cell in literally trillions of cellular processes that take place in your body every second of your life. DNA is structured in a ladderlike formation of two strands with rungs creating a double-helix shape.
For example: Why did God create man? If one replies that God needed someone to love, why couldn’t he just have loved the angels? Whatever may be said about man could apply to them as well. If God already had angels, then why did he create us? This is an interesting question, likely entertained by many on occasion. A couple of things may be said in response. One must recognize that it is not possible for finite human beings to understand all of the purposes of God. We can only know what he has chosen to reveal (cf. Dt. 29:29) in his sacred Word (biblical revelation).
What Do We Know about Being Created in the Image of God ? Moses 2:27: I, God, created man in mine own image, in the image of mine Only Begotten created I him; male and female created I them. President Gordon B. Hinckley (1910–2008): Our bodies are sacred. No camera has ever matched the wonder of the human eye. No pump was ever built that could run so long and carry such heavy duty as the human heart. The ear and the brain constitute a miracle. To know God is to think what he thinks, to feel what he feels, to have the power he possesses, to comprehend the truths he understands, and to do what he does. Those who know God become like him, and have his kind of life, which is eternal life.
