D. Ouspensky was a Russian esotericist known for his expositions of the early work of the Greek-Armenian teacher of esoteric doctrine George Gurdjieff, whom he met in Moscow in 1915 and major contributor to Twentieth century ideas. He anticipated many of the key questions in philosophy, psychology and religion that have driven and informed us throughout the century. In 1940, he moved to the United States with some of his London pupils and continued lecturing until his death in 1947, shortly after returning to England. Ouspensky took an interest in Theosophical literature and particularly the possible synthesis of religion, mysticism, and science. In 1912 he published his book Tertium Organum; the Third Canon of Thought; a Key to the Enigmas of the World). It discussed his theories of time, space, relativity, Theosophy, cosmic consciousness, and Eastern and Western philosophy.

This book is one of the best practical books by Ouspensky, but this edition omits the diagrams. Oh well, it is still better than a book which requires me to get up and find it, especially as both copies in the house are paperbacks that loose pages. Making efforts easier isn't the best, but anything that gets me to read this book is better than indulging in "jounalism" about murders and politics.

I was thrilled to find this book on Amazon! My daughter taught me about it some, so I was really wanting to read more about it. Thanks, Amazon!

A necessary book to read AFTER you read In Search of the Miraculous. Then move on to the Psychological Commentaries ..., by Maurice Nicoll. Trust your instincts after that and you may very well be on you WAY.

A great book for those "In Search." (Many questions and answers to enlightenment possibilities.) "In Search of the Miraculous" is another fine Ouspensky book.
Loved everything about the book but the print size. Found it too small. Book itself is a nice handling size and I will have to read it to decide on its contents but I’m pretty sure it will be enlightening. I shall see.
