by William F. Hoffman and Jonathan D. Shea (Author). I like everything about these books, and other books, written by: William F Hoffman & Jonathan D. Shea, including their attitude toward us. They have invaluable information; are insiders, have an insiders view of what we need as amatuers, or family genealogists. The book itself becomes a part of the journey. I have my marked/tabbed for quick reference to certain areas, which very helpful if you are truly committed to building a tree or even finding one ascestor. Although this book is very comphrehensive,I don't think it is possible for it to contain everything you need to know, which is probably why they have several volumes. The subjects are just too huge for one book. Like Polish family/surnames, voumes could be written on that subject alone.
