PROCEEDINGS VOLUME 3569. Volume Number: 3569 Date Published: 29 December 1998. The aim of the present work was to investigate effect of low power laser irradiation (LPLI) on platelet function in vitro. He-Ne laser (Optronix, USA; (lambda) - 63. nm, output power - 7 mW) was employed. Platelet adhesion and aggregation in whole blood (WB) under defined shear conditions were assayed by a Cone and Plate(let) Analyzer. Platelet activation was evaluated by flow cytometry.
Effects of Low-Power Light on Biological Systems V. Article. The effects of low energy He-Ne 630 laser (LEL) irradiation on various aspects of cell metabolism, including proliferation, respiration, ATP synthesis and Ca2+ uptake, have been recently recognized in somatic cells, animal spermatozoa and embryonic cells. 1- To analyze the in vitro effects of LEL irradiation on the mouse IVF model. 2- To assess the effects of experimental LEL irradiation on human spermatozoa in the sperm-zona free hamster egg penetration (SPA) model. Such studies are also important because they often times lay the foundation for the development of future applications. The BM is the layer that separates the epidermis and dermis. It consists primarily of type IV collagen, laminin, entactin, and sulfated proteoglycans. Interestingly, to date, few studies have characterized the optical properties of these biomolecules at THz frequencies Thus, high-power THz radiation is assumed to cause thermal effects in biological materials.

Relatively little is understood of the mechanism by which the sensation of t1ickering. shimmering light patterns is produced. Present evidence supports the notion of an effect at the retina rather than at cortical structures, but direct cortical stimulation may playa role under some circumstances (and, for example. direct electric stimulation of the cortex produces phosphenes).
