Paul Avis' book reveals much about Anglicanism. Recommended highly; tough to read at times, but stick with it, and you will be educated well indeed. I was looking for some kind of introduction into the Anglican church and their faith. So I was looking for some short work, which is not to scientific but also not to sketchy and with this one I got a pretty good compromise. It gives a good insight in the structures of the church, their fundamental belives, their self-understandig but also some in their problems.

Best book on Anglican ecclesiology

Avis seems to boil down years of research, writing, and leadership in the ecumenical movement to present this succinct and wise overview of Anglican identity. It is not stuffy or hard to read. It is short enough to get the gist of what he's talking about. I really liked this book.
