Consequently, Muslim India2 produced a great number of luminaries in science, philosophy, mysticism, theology, poetry, literature, politics, agriculture, and architecture, to name a few fields. 3 Their achievements necessitated existence of an effective and sound education. There have been generally two opposing views in this regard. Some scholars held that the pre-British Muslim India had single integrated education. The point of departure for this paper is that a critical examination of the eighteenth-century India's educational status would help in evaluating both views mentioned above.
