Yet even in His commissioning of the twelve, Chnst implied that their message would not be accepted (6:14-29). Still, the twelve did carry the name of Christ throughout Israel, and word eventually reached King Herod (6:14-29). Mark ended this section on opposition by focusing on Herod to show that Herod also was opposed to Christ

Really good book. Each chapter focuses on a specific area. In my reading, I found Dr. Elliott Johnson's chapter about "Literal Apocalypse" material very helpful.

I have been a student of the Bible since 1959 and I have learned so much from reading Dr. Pentecosts books. I had the priviledge of meeting Dr. Toussaint personally.

Dr. J. Dwight Pentecost was one of the foremost Dispensationalist scholars of the 20th century. His book Things to Come is probably the finest one volume work on eschatology. All of the essays in this volume are from Pentecost's fellow professors at Dallas Theological Seminary. Some of the articles I especially enjoyed are the exposition of "The Israel of God" by S. Lewis Johnson, and different views of the Sermon on the Mount by John Martin. Though some of the articles are a bit dry, they are very scholarly, and it will give you a better understanding of Dispensational thought. I was a little disappointed that there was no essay by Dr. Charles C. Ryrie, who was Pentecost's long-time cohort at DTS. Recommended.
