John and Lily have a passion to spread the exhuberant love and joy of the supernatural gospel of Jesus Christ. John has a strong historical focus on the wonderworkers of the past - as well as a prophetic perspective of the wonderworkers of the future. Source: John and Lily Crowder , Sons of Thunder.

Among them are James son of Zebedee and his brother John (to them he gave the name Boanerges, which means Sons of Thunder) (Mark 3:17). This is the only place in Scripture that mentions the designation of the sons of Zebedee as the Sons of Thunder, and there is no stated explanation as to why Jesus named them this. However, Jesus has a purpose for everything He does, so He must have had a good reason for dubbing James and John as Sons of Thunder. In one vivid incident, we see that James and John possessed some truly thunder-like qualities. Jesus and His disciples were traveling through Samaria on their way to Jerusalem when they ran into trouble. When the disciples James and John saw this, they asked, ‘Lord, do you want us to call fire down from heaven to destroy them?’ (Luke 9:54). Jesus rebuked the brothers, and they all went to another village.

The Soldier is a crazed, jingoistic patriot from America's heartland. Tough and well-armed, he is versatile, capable of both offense and defense, and a great starter class to get familiar with the game. The Soldier is well known for his spectacular rocket jump. In defiance of all good sense and judgment, the Soldier can detonate a rocket at his feet and launch himself skyward at the cost of some health (which can be reduced by the Gunboats, or negated altogether by the Rocket Jumper).

"Soldier's Fire, Servant's Thunder," chronicles the opening of a new evangelical frontier, Vietnam. This book also chronicles a spiritual frontier, the heart of a Christian businessman, Author, and missionary, who sought to take his life to a higher spiritual level. It also provides an account of the real life struggles of fourteen (14) short term and full-time missionaries who came from America, Russia, New Zealand, England, Germany and Holland. These missionaries combined their faith, prayers, talents and perseverance to work in a Communist country.

"Soldier's Fire, Servant's Thunder," provides a unique perspective of what a Christian can do when he/she is willing to be broken for God and put all his/her faith in Christ and not him/herself.

This book is a record of a group of people trying to take the word of God to Vietnam. Most of the book follows the author, John Chaya, as he and the group fight for visas and a chance to help those in Vietnam learn about God's word.
They have many disappointments, and at times, they have almost zero self esteem. However, their faith in the Lord keeps them on track. There is A LOT of praying in the book as the group tries to set up a concert to help them in their efforts of spreading His word.
This is a great book to read if you are feeling low and need a boost to your spirits. Especially if you are going through a difficult time and your faith is shaky. The book will remind you that miracles DO still happen.
Jake Chaya has written a book that has left me inspired. I will look at prayer in a whole new way. It has challenged me to get involved in helping my fellow man in whatever way God wants me to. This book helped remove my fear in daily life and my fear that I couldn't do work in God's name. Before I was crippled, now I feel empowered. His book changed my life. I hope you read it and let it change yours too.
