The Second Congress of the Federation of Acoustical Societies of Europe (FASE-78) was held in Warsaw, Poland from 18-22 September 1978. The following papers of interest to our readers were presented. This reception, sponsored by the Acoustical Society of America and supported by the National Council of Acoustical Consultants, will provide an opportunity for students to meet informally with fellow students and other members of the Acoustical Societies of America. All students are encouraged to attend, especially students who are ﬁrst time attendees or those from smaller universities. A contributor in Speech Communication may be the principal author of only one paper, and, subject to time and space limitations, may be the co-author of only one additional paper. Authors contributing papers in Speech Communication are also encouraged to select poster-style presentation.
