Ah, Horrible Histories. This series is single-handedly responsible for the fact that, as a child, I thought British history was fascinating, while American history was inherently boring. One look at the cover will show you why. I didn't want to read about how noble George Washington or Harriet Tubman had been. It just goes to show that sanitizing Ah, Horrible Histories. As an adult, I can see the flaws in the Horrible Histories series. Terry Deary has a tendency to take the most sensational interpretation of the evidence and present it as what definitely happened. It's not the most rigorous historiographical approach, and, as an adult, I take everything in his books with a grain of salt.
