These are an incredible masterpiece. I highly recommend this book to everyone who is a teacher or just loves architecture. It is truly amazing.

The pop-ups in this book are generally just too elementary. Several of the pop-up pages actually arrived with some some tears in the buildings. On the other hand, the the choice of the structures showed a good diversity in design styles and followed an appropriate timeline through history.
Funky
The popups are very very complex. Almost too much. Most in fact do not work as well as I would have liked. The last page with the telescoping tower did not popout well either. But never mind, it is still a great book. Each page has many many smaller but excellent pop ups. Besides the great popups, the text is well done, important periods are covered but I doubt you would buy this book for actual reading. It is a super gift or a "collection" book.

Beautiful book that makes a nice present. In additon to the nice and elaborate pop ups, it contains quite a bit of text; so while it's not really a book for young children, it appeals to both the child and adult in each of us.

;)
We needed a book for a talk with school children about architecture. It was a hit with the children and adults.
