Kisser: A Stone Barrington Novel by Stuart Woods

More Praise for Stuart Woods. Stuart Woods is a no-nonsense, slam-bang storyteller. I try to put Woods’s books down and I can’t. Mr. Woods, like his characters, has an appealing way of making things nice and clear.

Lucid Intervals: A Stone Barrington Novel. Loitering With Intent (Stone Barrington Book 16). Stuart Woods. Woods’ lawyer and private investigator Stone Barrington has never wanted for female company, but even he concedes he has too much on his plate in this latest outing: three lovers and three would-be companions, including his unbalanced ex-wife, Dolce. Stone is taken with beautiful actress Carrie Cox the moment he sets eyes on her at Elaine’s, and he agrees to help her secure the lead in a Broadway play and fend off the lascivious director. Hot Mahogany (Stone Barrington Book 15).

Stone Barrington is back in New York, working on some simple cases for Woodman & Weld when he crosses paths with a aspiring actress and gets a little more involved with show business than he’d expected. Then the fleecing of a wealthy art dealer’s daughter leads him into the worlds of financial fraud, Big Art, and Manhattan’s Upper East Side, where opulent co-op apartments are hung with multimillion-dollar paintings and family scandals never remain hidden for long.

Kisser: A Stone Barrington Novel. Unabridged Audiobook. Stone Barrington is back in New York, and after a rather harrowing sojourn in Key West, he's looking to stay closer to home and work on some simple divorce and custody cases for Woodman & Weld. But when he crosses paths with a fetching Broadway actress-and sometime lip model- Stone gets a little more deeply involved with business than he'd expected. When his new lady love turns out to be a lady with a shady past, Stone and downtown cop Dino Bacchetti realize that her beauty may have an unusually high price.

Stone Barrington is back in this thrilling new page-turner from the perennially entertaining New York Times-bestselling author. I've been a Stone Barrington fan for years now. I've followed his escapades, his women and his light nights at Elaine's faithfully and. there's no doubt about it, Stuart Woods knows how to write a fast-paced, action filled novel. this novel had less of the mystery and more of Stone Barrington's exploits (reaching a new level of lewdness even). I don't read your books, Mr. Woods, to get my romance novel kick. Okay, with this book Stuart Woods slid into the comedy genre. He USED to a pretty decent thriller writer.

Stone Barrington’s appeal as a handsome big city attorney continues in Stuart Wood’s new novel, KISSER. In the meantime, she works as a lipstick model for an advertising agency. As a virile, good-looking man, Barrington is exploited by Woods, both in comic relief during tight circumstances and in thematic dramatization. KISSER is an entertaining book, with enough action to turn pages for a thirsty mystery reader, and is testament to the author’s popularity in the world of mystery fiction. At least this time Woods did not kill off any beautiful girls. Not sure if he used them up or if they used him up. in this story, Stone is very busy with ladies in all aspects of this book. His assignments are no longer very clear. He makes his own assignment to do lightweight legal help for a pretty actress who comes to New York to break in to show business. Her ex-husband threatens her so Stone sets up a system of keeping track of her. But the ex still manages to attack her with a knife, shoot her (flesh wound and she does not even miss a rehearsal, He makes love to her several times in between other appointments. Late in the story she finds him in his bedroom (he gave her a key to his house for when she feels "threatened" and she catches him in bed with his favorite lady cop and she runs home half clothed (helped by one of the guards he hired for her only to be shot when trying to enter her own house. She has a successful Opening Night only to be shot at again by her ex though her guard finally kills her ex. He has two three=ways with his favorite lady cop and her friend. He gets in a good assignation with the US Attorney he has messed with before. In his only real assignment he is to save the daughter of a rich client of his law firm. He gets Dino to shoot her in the ass with a .22 pistol (only hurts for a little while) while he is re-instated as a cop and then gets a gold badge in final retirement. He is almost seduced by a girlfriend of a villain except he's too pooped to pop because of a three-way the night before. His lady cop friend dumps him after she gets a big promotion to head of detectives (equal to Dino's rank in another precinct). He ends up a prisoner in his own home by his crazy ex-wife. In short, he does nothing well and everything poorly. Why was this book published?

All of the Stuart Woods books have provided me with a great deal of entertainment. Each is different but weaves in many of the same characters as they age and go through their lives. Some of the lesser characters recur here and there, making each book more interesting. Read them in order to keep up with the movement. Thoroughly enjoyable with many plots about places and matters that I otherwise might not have been overly interested in until reading them in these books. I keep tied for more from Mr. Woods.

Oh sorry, thought it was light headed on the second one, it seems Woods thinks we want sex thruout, sorry, that ship has sailed, wont be getting any more of my once fav author........he is in bed more than on the road and therefore, I can get 50 shades if I want that. its been a long read time but must go elsewhere for my mystery I guess. I actually didn't finish it as it was too full of Stones bed partners. I want mystery and fun, not boring
thoughts from an author who has lost it in la la land!

Enjoyed the storyline and the pace of the book. Maybe a personal peeve, but the “Author’s Note” is a bit pompous and self serving fluff, that is not needed. I doubt that Mr Woods has camp followers beseeching him for his pearls of wisdom.

This novel is as good as any of the previous Stone Barrington, the big difference is the amount and variety of sex. Good story and great characters that are what we expect. Never disappoints.

If you like Stuart Woods's writing and characters, you won't be disappointed. They're great for escapism, and they're page-turners, but there's really nothing that you haven't seen many times in his stories: everyone succeeds well at what they do, every character has either a trust fund, a divorce settlement, or a huge inheritance. No one lacks for money or means, and Barrington has no trouble getting laid. But if you enjoyed one of these books, you will enjoy all of them.

Loved the story (s). A few too many women in Stones bed but......
Kept my interest and I'm looking forward to the next to see what the ex is up to!
I am perhaps becoming more prudish in my reading tastes. There are too many romps in the bedroom for my taste. I like the story and the "who done it" aspects of the book. Fun but leading man is too slutty.
