This was the first book from this author that I have read. I doubt I'll read anymore of her books. I didn't like her characters. I have looked at some of her other books but, I doubt I will try another one due to the cost. Her books cost more than any other book I would buy. I'd like to give her another try but not at the current prices.

This book really lacked any emotion. I never felt spellbound by the story. It was very lackluster. I felt nothing for any character in her book. I was relieved to finish the book. Very disappointed because I really like mysteries and thriller suspense books.

Ok, I am a total bookworm, but I am also a book snob. I am a very picky reader. My husband gave me this book for Christmas and when I read the inside cover I wasn't sure that I wanted to read it but I didn't want to hurt his feelings so I started reading. That was 36 hours ago! This book was awesome! The only reason that I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is because I enjoy Carlene Thompson and Harlan Coben books just as much if not more- but this book is so worth your time. I also recommend The Woods by Harlan Coben and Last Seen Alive by Carlene Thompson. Those books are 5's!

This book definitely kept me turning the pages late at night till I finished it. I like the author's writing style and her characters are believable. There is always a burst of action at the end of her novels as the mystery is solved. In this book, I especially appreciated the depiction of the prejudice shown against the main character Duncan Avery because he is a convicted felon. It is so easy to be mean to someone when you don't know the whole story, and the author really brings this lesson out, without being preachy.

I love Patricia MacDonald's novels. They have all the suspense and surprise twists in them that I have come to expect from my favorite authors. This one is no exception. I read it in one sitting and was very glad all the loose ends were neatly tied up in a great package at the end.

This book was great. I couldn't put it down. I read it very quickly. This author is one of my new favorite authors. The book had a great plot and an excellent ending. I will be buying more of this author's books
