Best Lyme Disease Book! By Thriftbooks. com User, October 26, 2009. Since purchasing Dr. Singleton's Lyme Disease Solution, I have read and re-read it and used it numerous times as a handy reference. I also bought a copy for my primary care physician and several friends. As a matter of fact, my copy is on loan right now to a friend who recently got a "bull's eye" rash. A Lyme book worth reading.

Bless this doctor and all who ''buck'' the corrupt system to treat patients with the right treatments that actually treat the disease and get it done right (can take YEARS).. which explains why the CDC and insurance companies want to insist that Lyme needs only 14 days of Doxycline ($25) to fix it.

The real treatments cost a lot more and can cost tens of thousands for difficult cases.
Some studies (watch the documenatary on Youtube= "Under Our Skin" and you'll learn a LOT.) IT seems to reveal that Parkinson's, MS, ALS, and large majority of Alzheimer's patients have LYME. (don't forget Steven Hawking too.)
Memory loss. arthritis, body aches, tired, weak, and many seemingly unrelated problems.

Thank goodness that Dr. Singleton wrote this book! I have suffered from Lyme disease for over 20 years. I went to Johns Hopkins and to Georgetown University Hospital Center. Despite a continually worsening condition, the physicians at both hospitals insisted that a 10 day dose of antibiotics was enough. They were so absolutely certain that they were right. My condition became quite severe, until the nerve damage was serious enough that I regularly needed a wheelchair, I had difficulty speaking, and my immune system had nearly ceased to function. But Hopkins and Georgetown wouldn't offer me any more help. Thank God, a friend told me about Dr. Singleton and this book. I read the book, and felt hope for the first time in years. I was a serious enough case that Dr. Singleton took me on as a patient (he pretty much only takes on the worst train wrecks, so I qualified). That was a few years ago. In that time, under his care and guidance, I have been effectively treated for chronic Lyme disease. I now go hiking regularly, swim nearly daily, and no longer feel the chronic fatigue that plagued me for so many years. I don't use a wheelchair any longer, and my speech patterns have completely returned to normal. My immune system is robust, so I no longer catch every bug that is going around. My life has completely turned around.
This book is absolutely the best reference book on Lyme available. It is written in a warm, engaging manner, and is organized so that even a layperson can understand complex medical concepts and research easily. It is an invaluable reference book, and can be used to formulate appropriate questions for your own physician, to be sure that you are getting the best care available. I have purchased several of these books, and given them to friends who suffer from Lyme disease. I have even given the book to a physician friend, to assist him in properly treating the Lyme patients that he treats. In short, if you even think that you MIGHT have Lyme disease, this book is a must read. It could make the difference between a lifetime of suffering and an early death, or a life enjoyed to the fullest without disease.
Considering the increasing cost of medical care these days, the small amount you'd pay for this book is negligible. But with its guidance, you can find a Lyme literate MD who won't waste your time and money with inadequate or inappropriate treatment. No-one should have to suffer like I did, for as long as I did. To your health . . .

This book is highly detailed and goes into every aspect of what you need to know if you suspect you have Lyme or any of the co-infections (symptoms of all the various co-infections are listed). It explains what tests are reliable (I tested negative on the standard one given in the doctor's office, but highly positive with multiple bands from the only reliable Lab - IGeneX). I have very late stage disseminated Lyme with the co-infection of Bartonella (affects the nervous system) and co-infections MUST be treated first. It stresses the importance of obtaining yourself a Lyme Literate MD. otherwise you will NOT get the proper treatment. It talks about natural supplements to take to help, most of which I had been taking intuitively for years since I've apparently had Lyme for a couple of decades, and a Lyme Literate DO was able to spot my neurological symptoms and suggest testing. I must admit that I have not finished this encyclopedia of a book yet, but I can see that it is definitely a 5 star book. If you're new to this, I'd start with Cure Unknown-Inside the Lyme Epidemic, move to this book, and then for a real focus on the herbal treatments and natural approach, Insights into Lyme Disease Treatment written by 13 Lyme-Literate Health Care Practitioners. Unfortunately I had to stop 10 days short of the 6 months of 2 different antibiotics, at very high doses, due to side effect of tendonitis to the point of needing surgery, which I am refusing, but now beginning to work with the microbial tinctures. I had absolutely no idea that ticks could cause such havoc to one's life, or lack of it. Very educational and good to know even if you don't have Lyme. Buy it for your doctor if not for yourself!

This book has a lot of information. It will probably help anyone who is in any capacity dealing with Lyme disease. This book has good information for both a doctor and a patient trying to figure out what to do with Lyme disease. My wife has been suffering from Lyme disease for 8 years and this book had a huge amount of new information we have never heard before. I skimmed over a lot of detailed information looking for the general answer to my question "What do we do?" He has a well thought out treatment plan that he presents. However, it is also realistic that no one is the same and so the treatment for each patient will be different. He emphasised the need to find a Lyme Literate medical doctor who understands the complexity of the disease. However, he does not just say "Go to the doctor". He gives you a lot of specific treatment suggestions for different issues that people have.

In his practice he seems to be able to heal most patients using standard medical practises including diet, vitamins, and antibiotics. (Note that was a very simplified summary.) He does not use experimental treatments like Rife frequency therapy.
