Left Main Coronary Artery Stenting in an Adolescent: Diagnostic and Therapeutic Challenge. The fact that atheroma impairs the coronary arteries at an early age has been well known since Enos in 1953 reported his autopsy observations in young American men killed in Korea. Background: Coronary artery bypass grafting and percutaneous coronary intervention are revascularization options for significant coronary artery disease. While international data support the use of coronary artery bypass in high-risk groups, regional data on outcomes in these groups are rare. We conducted a retrospective study to determine the outcomes of patients undergoing coronary artery bypass for left main and multivessel disease.

Invasive tests of coronary artery function are the reference standard for the diagnosis of CM. 1 We contend that a complete diagnostic evaluation of the coronary circulation should assess structural and functional pathology. Pressure-derived indices, such as fractional flow reserve (FFR), contrast-enhanced FFR, instantaneous wave-free ratio (iFR) and resting Pd/Pa, are useful tests to guide revascularisation decisions. 32 However, as is the case with coronary angiography, these indices do not inform the clinician about microvascular resistance and or vasodilator potential.
