She encourages the acutes to spy on one another and rewards them for any secrets they tell her about the other patients.

It was an interesting account of actual events occuring in just one day on a busy psychiatric ward. I enjoyed the authors' unique perceptions of that one day. I would love to hear the other players' accounts of the incidents related.

This peek at what it's like inside an acute psychiatric ward blew me away. I've always been curious about what kinds of personal crises happened to people who got hospitalized in these places. The lack of political will to improve the lot for people with mental disorders is heartbreaking and should be more well known. The down side of civil rights for the mentally ill is also troubling. This book really opened my eyes.

The book was a terrific eye opener about everyone that we come in contact with. It is a must read for those that are dealing with the public as I am. The book shows you how some of the people like the patients are walking in our daily lives and what brought them to where they are at the time. You never realize the stories behind the individuals that we interact with and what makes them act the way that they do, this book will enlighen you. Thank you for opening my eyes.
