La colmena, Camilo José Cela (Guías Laia de literatura) (Spanish Edition) by Raquel Asún

This book is not a simple novel, as much as it is an experience in my opinion. It runs Dynamic, interesting and well-written. Cela introduces us to over 160 characters, and I honestly wish there was some kind of a manual that would show all their relations to each other, for it does get confusing from time to time. Couldn't help but praise myself a little bit each time I remembered who people on pages were. The reader witness dialogues after dialogue, scene after scene, thoughts after thoughts.

Seguramente la obra más valiosa de Cela. Un testimonio fiel de. The Family of Pascual Duarte. by Camilo José Cela · Anthony Kerrigan.

by Camilo José Cela (Author).

There are reasons to believe that Camilo Jose Cela knew perfectly well what he was doing as he wrote, between 1945 and 1950, La colmena, a novel that would counterweight the positive image the Franco regime was striving to build. a humble shadow of the daily, harsh, deep and painful reality. The idea of portraying the daily Madrid reality constitutes the very essence of La colmena and, quite paradoxically, gives the text its universal reach.
