Tonight, Jerry North faces something so terrifying that no amount of martinis could quiet his nerves: He has to make a speech. A genuinely puzzling mystery flavored with the delightful wackiness that has made the North's famous. A major Lockridge , recommended for all around consumption.

Bad Sunny
Jerry has to give a speech, but the author he was supposed to introduce dies on stage before he could say a word. Pam has her teenage nieces visiting. They all help Bill Weigand look for the killer. Pam has a special way to look at problems and there is a little man getting in all their ways.

I was surprised, but I really liked the characters. They say "The North" books, but the lieutenant is actually the hero. He just gets a few insights from the Norths that make him think in a different direction and closes the case.
Stonewing
I discovered the Mr and Mrs North mysteries a while ago and I found that I like (most of) them. (I'm still reading therir firsts books,1942 and on.)In my opinion they are taut, well written and interesting, like this one.I will keep reading them.

The dialogue is a little silly between husband and wife. The mystery okay. I haven't read any of the other North books yet. Just didn't want to after this one.

I was surprised that Mr. and Mrs. North were secondary characters in the story. The story was okay, but nothing special
