Through some demon radio Oh no, I know It’s so hard to go If the worlds too fast for livin' And dyin' so easy to do Look out any broken window Is it time to see it through? Oh no, I know It’s so hard to go. So say farewell to the good times There’s nothin' else we can do Farewell to the good times They never promise to be true There’s nothin' left to believe in Nothin' left here for me and you. I was thinkin' of the future I was dreamin&apos.

A Farewell to Arms is a novel written by Ernest Hemingway and set in Italy during World War I. The book became one of his most well-known novels. Soon, Henry is fully healed and sent back out to the Italian front with his ambulance. But he arrives during a bombardment when Allied forces are retreating. During the fray of battle, Henry manages to escape by jumping into a river and swimming downriver until he can board a train to Milan. Henry reunites with a pregnant Catherine and from there the two escape to Switzerland. Henry assumes his obligations to the war are over but soon tragedy rocks the happy couple to their core. The book is told from a first person perspective, narrated by a man called Lieutenant Fredric Henry.
Farewell to Manzanar. Jeanne W. Houston and James D. Houston. Working from nonfiction data, Jeanne and James Houston recreate nonjudgmental pictures of California citizens terrorized by an enemy attack on the Hawaiian islands.
There is something so complete in Mr Hemingway's achievement in A Farewell to Arms that one is left speculating as to whether another novel will follow in this manner, and whether it does not complete both a period and a phase. The last 50 pages of book three describe the Italian army in retreat, the block of transport on the main roads, the bogging and abandonment of Henry's cars on a side road, the Italian privates' behaviour and their hatred of the war, and finally the shooting of the elderly officers in retreat by the Italian battle police at the Tagliamento - these pages.
