ROBERT LESLIE BELLEM worked in the newspaper business prior to becoming a full-time fictioneer. He penned several million words of fiction, much of it starring Dan Turner, Hollywood Detective. He wrote scripts for tv shows like "The Adventures of Superman," "The Lone Ranger," "77 Sunset Strip," and "Perry Mason. Wooley is an expert on the writings of Bellem, in this instance, his famous detective, Dan Turner, which adds to the authenticity of his adaptation of Bellem's style for the silver screen. Bellem seldom found a word that he couldn't spice up-rosco for gun; a gun 'sneezes'; a bullet in flight is a "red hornet". An added bonus is being able to see how one writer, Wooley, adapts but stays true to the work of another, Bellem, for screen since this story was made into a movie.
