Not PC but really liked it nevertheless. A possessive and jealous here who falls hard and fast in lust for the heroine it later turned to love. Faithful including a 2 year separation he is blind to all other woman except her. Hot sexy times for a historical romance. A immature but likable heroine who makes him chase
and work to be with her. A HFN ending.

The only thing that I didn’t like was near the end of the book the hero randomly throws out that he has it illegitimate child. . The hero has a son with heroine and so this other child would be his half brother or half-sister. Unless I missed it and no other reference was made to the hero having another child much less one out of wedlock. It was very random and unnecessary and the child was never mentioned again. We don’t know whether the hero has been visiting this child, if this child is alive or if he has any plans to see his child in the future. The whole thing just left a bad taste in my mouth and the reason that this is not a 5 star review.

When a young girl finds out her uncle and husband-to-be have schemed to marry her and get her money she runs away and learns what life is about. Her runs takes her to an English harbor where she is abducted and installed on a boat headed for America by a wealthy, she ends up married to him but an old girlfriend interferes and the really story begins. This is a good story for love, growing up and in the end happiness.

I tend to get a little annoyed with heroines who constantly question love. In spite of that this was a good book that I enjoyed.

I have been reading Jude Deveraux for many years, and I have a lot of books by many authors. Jude's books have become my favorites because of her humor and wit; I have actually laughed out loud. What I really enjoy about her books is the fact that she uses the same families through so many of her stories, and being a genealogist in my own right, these stories bring the meaning of family to me in a stronger sense. It is the continuation of the names through the years she uses, from one generation to another that keeps my interest and waiting for her new books. Jude is a wonderful storyteller, and I can't get enough of her books. I could never compare her books to any other author; never.

The plot was too similar to a Katherine Woodiwiss novel to rate 5 stars, but it had enough twists and turns to be original. Well written and, MOST IMPORTANTLY, it was believable. The first time I purchased this book, it was not readable. The publisher has now fixed that problem.

Love her books. She was sky gateway to the romance novel realm. This wasn't my fav book but the trilogy it is art of could never be complete without it
Travis seems larger than life, and generous, while Regan is repetitively whining, unthankful and silly. I adore this author, but this one missed the mark for me. I was left hoping either she would grow up or Travis would find a different woman. Writing style and flow are as usual, smooth and emotionally provoking, but the lost stars are for the sheer irritating heroine.
