Great story! I wish that this was a series. Read any book by this author that you can find!
It was difficult for me to relate to the characters. This woman had such serious problems all her life. People were not tristeorthy. It was too heavy with no relief in her story????
Author is very knowable of the time in history.
I first read this story in a Readers Digest condensed version about 15 years ago. Since then, it has been my all time favorite book. I think I have read it at least 15 times over the years. It's one of those stories that reminds you what life is really about and how the hard times can shape the good times and vice versa. Highly recommended for the 'old country at heart' reader.
