Th Diana Palmer kicks off a five book series (which ends up crossing over with her Long Tall Texan Series in books 4 & 5) with this really lovely May/December romance and absurd plot. The heroine is the unwanted stepdaughter of the hero’s enemy. Stepdad wants to drill for oil in a desert kingdom, run by the sheikh hero of book three. Like almost every full-length novel I've read by Palmer, Once in Paris was a fantastic read. It was one of those books where you don't even notice what page you are on because you are so caught up in the characters and the story. The characters are great - well-rounded, likable and interesting.

Hutton & Co. Book 1 June 15, 2012 e-Book. It was in Paris she first saw him. He was tall, handsome-utterly dangerous. Inexplicably drawn to him, Brianne Martin pulled a grief-stricken Pierce Hutton back from the depths of despair. He was forever grateful, but he drew the line at seducing a woman half his age. It was in Paris she fell in love. Although Pierce was strictly off-limits, Brianne couldn’t imagine surrendering her innocence to anyone but him. Certainly not to her stepfather’s corrupt business associate.

As I have said before, I love Diana Palmer books, the plots are great, but the sex is not. This is the 'first' in a series of books that I always read in order when I read all of them. Sometimes I only read the 'third' book, called "Lord of the Desert' only, but this book along with the 'second' book, called 'Paper Rose' go together as does another plot of another book that is mentioned in the 'third' book. But I like the plot of her books. They stand alone without all the sex. I have taken to when I first read her books to marking the pages with the sex and skip them. :)

Wow... the adventure was ongoing and went from one hairpin escape to another. I enjoyed the book very much and can’t wait to read the next book.

As always Diana has left me happy with this book. I enjoy reading and esp hers. I haven't read one I haven't liked.

The story was very good. I had a little bit of everything to keep it interesting all the way thru. If you like romantic novels you will also like this one

So get it and enjoy.

I found this a truly enjoyable read. Pierce Hutton is a unique character; I can totally relate to his grief for his first wife & his feelings that he is betraying her memory by getting involved w/ Brianne. There is a similarity between Pierce & Garon Grier from "Lawman" in that they both lost their wives to cancer. However, Pierce is a much more sympathetic character. He marries Brianne to protect her from Kurt Brauer & Philippe Sabon but when he attempts to keep her @ arms's length, he is not cruel or vicious as Garon Grier is with Grace Carver.

Brianne is a handful, she's sweet, innocent, smart & brave by turns. When she learns the truth about Philippe, she is very compassionate toward him & they become friends, which makes Pierce jealous & makes for some spectacular fights. Everything works out, though, in true DP fashion.

I can highly recommend this book, along with Lord of The Desert & Paper Rose, which continue the stories of Philippe & Tate Winthrop, respectively.

I first came across this book in my youth reading it again now I can see why I was so fascinated by it, a wonderful read and beautifully written.

This book was exciting with a kidnapping and the overthrow of a small middle eastern country. There was plenty of sensual romance and deep feelings between the lead characters. One of Palmer's best books I've read.

Diana Palmer always has great stories and wonderful characters. The women are always strong and loving. The men are strong men cowboys, lawmen and sexy.
True to form,Diana Palmer held my attention during the entire story. At the beginning I felt sorry for Brianne and pierce due to his mourning his dead wife and she being alienated. I worried about her and the Sheik during parts of the story,I admired Brianne's bravery and the ending left me with an eagerness to read about the other characters in the saga. A good stiry about live and adventure.
