About book: Gafferty said, that the first party is for the losers, guys like me who don’t have their P. That’s ridiculous, Potter said, Ed and I are invited to the second party and neither of us have our P. Ah! Gafferty whispered, leaning forward, but Dean Hardy no doubt thinks you both have the capability and drive to go on and eventually get the degree, even though you don’t have it yet!

Interesting novel, good clean living, lots of his and downs in the lives of a farming family. I thought it would end different! So you can not assume the end to a storyory!

The story's okay but the long descriptions are often clunky and I wouldn't read through all of them. Skip it. Not his best.

Pleasant and predictable

Good narrative. Excellent vocabulary. Fun.

Slow start, will try again but certainly not engaging immediately. Will update as I try again. Usually enjoy the English story tellers.
Wat!?
I give "Starting Over" five stars. I am so glad Robin Pilcher is an author also because I have read every single book his mother Rosamunde Pilcher wrote (and some of her books more than once just because I enjoy her style of writing so much), and now I will read every one of Robin Pilchers books because he has the very same talent for writing.

Excellent read. Being a fan of Rosamunde Pilcher, I expected nothing less than excellent works from her son. Uses his individual style, of course. The characters are wonderful and many; there's history about the areas his characters are involved in; it doesn't take long to keep everyone straight as the story unfolds. I continue to look forward to more books from this author. I believe he's truly "off and running" as a writer.
Very good story line. Interesting characters.
