Passion Bay (Moon Island, Book 1) by Jennifer Fulton

Passion Bay (Moon Island is a very enjoyable story of two wary women fighting their mutual attraction on a secluded tropical island. There is also an extensively detailed side story of the life of MC Annabel’s deceased aunt, and as the mysteries of that story are revealed, it ties into the present time and affects Annabel’s relationship with her family  . Well, at some point certain efforts to run away would succeed in ending a relationship in my book; but it’s not my book, it’s author Jennifer Fulton’s book. One amusing inside joke within Passion Bay is that author Rose Beecham appears.

Passion Bay, Book One. Two women from different ends of the earth encounter destiny, and one another, on a South Pacific paradise. When Boston securities broker, Annabel Worth inherits remote Moon Island, she travels there to solve a mystery that has haunted her family. Dumped by her lover, laid off from her job, New Zealander Cody Stanton flees to the island seeking solace and solitude. Both women are burdened with secrets that could destroy the passion that ignites between them. When Hurricane Mary strikes, each must make a choice that will change her life forever

No. this book needed another chapter to wrap it up correctly. After making me cry (a mark of an enjoyable book) it deserved a better ending. The author seems to rush things, and end abruptly.

When I read a romance I expect some fantasy and I expect to like the two lovers. That's true of all romances. Unfortunately I ended up disliking the two so called heroines. They both had all the morals of crooks and spent all their time bashing men as cowardly beasts or treating them as clowns. I began to feel like I was attending an LGBT rally and being preached at. If that's your thing, you'll love this book. If you want a sweet romance where the other sex is not the enemy, then don't buy this book. Get The Gravity Between Us. I highly recommend it.

This book was long and full of drama. It gave a good amount of info about the lesbian lifestyle but also revealed what the so-called "bi-sexual" female was really about. The sexual scenes were o.k. but definitely too short and only briefly described (the only thing that truly disappointed me about the book and only got it FOUR STARS).

Overall, I really enjoyed the book and think any lesbian appreciating person would also.

Okay this review will show my age because I still own the paperbacks of this series, when it was first released. And I must say I was very excited to find the auto book. I just love the story of Cody and Annabel and only wish there was more than a few books in this series.

The plot for this book is as described elsewhere. The author certainly has a real feel for her location. Her descriptions are vivid - so much so that you can feel the sticky heat and see the ocean curling in on the beach.

However, the author does not yet have as good a talent for character development. I never got a feel for the characters that I do in, say, a Gerri Hill novel. The characters come from vastly different backgrounds, but you never got the feeling that there would be conflict - certainly a computer geek and a commodities trader would have trouble communicating outside the bedroom upon occasion. Although the author told us there was a soul-level attraction between Cody and Annabel, the reader just never felt it.

It also seemed like the author rushed the ending - here we are in the middle of a life-threatening hurricane and on the next page there's sunshine, and every one is safely home. The tension of the storm could have been a real page turner of an ending for the author.

This author has real potential to be a first-class writer of lesbian fiction. And I will read book 2 in the Moon Island series, but won't read beyond that if the character development in the second book is as shallow as this.

This was the truest display of destiny and love if I've ever seen one. I felt so pulled into their lives that every loss, every pain, every victory was twice as profound. Kudos to Fulton for capturing such a truly romantic story. Makes me want to find the nearest island and stay a bit. This book proves that true love is possible, and that it can survive the toughest storms.

Great story. I enjoyed the snippets of different islands, Rarotonga, NZ, and of course Passion Bay.

This is my first Jennifer Fulton book, and then came the rest. Jennifer is an Author that writes enchanting diverse stories that do not allow the reader to put the book(s) aside for very long. Her characters become people you know. And in some cases people you love. She can't write fast enough for me.
such raw emotion and struggle between the two main characters to find their own paths and communicate their love for one another.
