Critical Mass by Carter Plymton Hydrick

About Carter Plymton Hydrick: Interesting things about me (I think-I may be too close to the subject matter to be objective), and why I think they may . .Carter Plymton Hydrick’s books. Critical Mass: How Nazi Germany Surrendered Enriched Uranium For The United States' Atomic Bomb.

Carter Plymton Hydrick has been a professional writer and communicator for over a quarter century. While Critical Mass is his first book, he has written or produced hundreds of scripts, articles, and advertisements, as well as written, produced and directed over 100 film and video productions, including work on feature films. He has served as director of corporate communications for a Fortune 500 company, and as a global marketing executive for one of the world’s largest computer companies.

Description: What Carter Hydrick discovered and has written in Critical Mass provides compelling proof, according to powerful documentary evidence housed in the United States National Archives, of the Nazi surrender of enriched uranium and other atomic bomb components to the United States, which were then used in the bombs dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki. This is evidence that profoundly changes the traditional history claiming the United States alone created the first atomic bombs. Wilcox mentioned that he had been reading the book CRITICAL MASS by Carter Plymton Hydrick. I have yet to read the book myself; Wilcox says he is sympathetic towards Plymton's thesis but feels the book was deficient in documentation. I am wondering if anyone else has read anything reputable that indicates German attempts at producing HEU in addition to their well-known but futile plutonium reactor programs. My position is, Japan and Germany were both definitely trying to build and deploy weapons of mass destruction, and that there was considerable co-operation between the two nations during the War. The German program, it is now well-established, was in the form of a "dirty bomb" that they intended to launch against London, New York City, and Washington, probably as the payload of an advanced version of the V-2 missile.

Why…a quarter of the present and former employees of Oak Ridge National Laboratory who viewed Carter Hydrick’s presentation of Critical Mass purchased the book.

Why… retired director of the Los Alamos National Laboratory’s Weapons Program Office, Dr. Delmar Bergen, endorses Critical Mass, saying it "certainly leads the experienced physicist to believe."

Why… Texas A&M University professor of World War Two science Dr. Anthony Stranges, who had defended the traditional history of the atomic bomb against Critical Mass in two television news broadcasts, after reviewing Carter Hydrick’s documentation and reading the book, reversed his position and now endorses Critical Mass.

Why… distinguished professor emeritus of history Dr. Douglas Tobler recommends that scholars and laymen interested in modern history read Critical Mass, calling it, "well-researched, well-reasoned, well-written."

Why...quasi-experts of the traditional history of the Manhattan Project are using poor scholarship and mischaracterization of the evidence presented in Critical Mass, in an effort to conserve the entrenched but incorrect history of the making of the first atomic bombs--and how these events profoundly changed the world in which we live. Read Critical Mass for yourself and decide where the truth lies!

Meticulously researched and well written. Mr Hydrick reveals the ugly truth that the US traded the safe exit from Europe to thousands of the worst fiends imaginable in exchange for the atomic bomb. Now, someone needs to write a similar book as to why Oppenheimer and his group of supposed scientific geniuses spent $2 million in 1940's dollars, and did not actually make the atomic bombs that were dropped on Japan (they may have managed to make the outer bomb casings). Was it because they favored socialism ( about a hair-breadth away from the Communism of Russia and did not want the US to be the sole nuclear superpower? And, why were only the Rosenbergs executed? They were certainly guilty, but Oppenheimer, Greenglass and others got a "free pass".

Keep an open mind. Hyrdick makes a compelling case. Out of print for years, this new edition has some new information and vindication that should silence some of the critics. Thoroughly referenced. Thanks to Dr. Joseph P. Farrell for bringing the book to my attention. Highly recommended.

One of the greatest investigative/historical documentations I have ever read. The amount of time and effort Carter Hydrick put into this work is unbelievable. This truly deserves a Pulitzer.

Any fan of WWII intrigue and global politics will love this book. All the amazing revelations are well- documented and support the logical conclusion of the author.

Absolutely essential reading. Debunks the allied myth of German nuclear inferiority.

Could have done with better editing. The Author tends to repeat him self when he is trying to make a point.

I had the privilege of discovering this work in the 1990s, in its first incarnation on the internet, and then later I found an earlier edition of this book in a Barnes and Noble, and after encouraging the author to seek out Trine Day and republish this work, I am enthused that he has done so and that Trine Day has added this signally important work to its offerings.

This book is, along with the works of German alternative researchers, crucial and unavoidable for any understanding of the alternative case that the USA did not "win the race" for the a-bomb without significant help from Nazi Germany. And that in turn means the Nazis were much further along than the carefully crafted post-war Allied legend would have it. Ignore the nitpicker reviews here. There are people who can't see the forest of an argument for standing too close to the bark on the trees, and that's the case here. Mr. Hydrick's argument is cumulative and draws on many threads carefully woven together. And for the nitpickers: Mr. Hydrick HAS been invited to various US atomic installations to present his case and argument... you haven't.
Early in the book I learned that ..."alpha radiation-which is merely neutrons being released by the U235."
Now I find it difficult to believe that someone who doesn't know the difference between an alpha particle and a neutron could accurately sort out information about nuclear weapons production. Sloppily researched from the start.
