Much of the information in this book contradicts that in the Definitive "Jane's Infantry Weapons" year books!
For instance, one of many; The entry under .30 Caliber Carbine M-1 is rather derisive and disputes the "Effective Range" listed on page 73, Column 3, PP 4, Line 21 of the "Janes Infantry Weapons 2000" year book that states " Effective Range 300 Meters"!
This is certainly not the only defect in what appears to be a hastily thrown together mass market gift book trying to capitalize on the good "Jane's" name.
If you are serious, look elsewhere and buy a real copy that is not a sloppy cut and paste job!

Not completely accurate. When you use a guide like this for specifics you aren't familiar with, and find inaccuracies in specs you do know, it cant be trusted for accuracy. Maybe good for a hobbyist, but info needs confirmation, which this was intended for.
Uylo
Very good gook!
Malaris
Very useful. Make safe procedures covered, differences in sub models outlined. Could do with more colour photos. And a photo for every weapon.

This addition of Jane's Guns Recognition guide deserves both praise and criticism. It covers a magnificent spectum of weapons from all over the world, but stops short of including new weapons, has inaccurate details (the caliber of several weapons is completely wrong).
If you have a working knowledge of firearms already, don't waste your time. If you are just getting started, it might be worth you while.

I have a very consistent library on weapons.

This book is a useful quick reference source.
