I thought "Architectural Drafting Residential and Commercial - by Thomas Obermeyer" was a specific reference. If you want me to look it up for you too then go through Unit 10 in that book. But that's only Architecture and only one book, my point was you'll get different answers for different disciplines. Anyway one or two books aren't my source of information, it was getting my degree with a series of different instructors that formed my opinion. I'm not quite sure why my opinion that there are guidelines for drafting would get you upset
