My son asked for this book and has quickly become an authority on all things cats. One of his friends has the book and recommended it as she learned a lot from it too. Seems detailed and useful if you are considering adopting a new cat or if you want to know more about your furry friend who is already a family member. Recommended based on my son's enthusiasm for it.
Lots of good pictures and information. This book is well suited to both kids and adults. Reasonably priced and good print quality.
My friend...being quite frivolous accidentally picked up a copy of this book. While reading it...she discovered the wonderful cats of the world. She quickly became obsessed telling everyone she knew, unfortunately including me. The first cat she showed me was what made me fall in love...The pixie-bob...(page 180) with a nub like tail and pudgy face the pixie bob resembles the north American bob cat. The pixie bob is a solid muscular cat with short thick fur marked in either a spotted or rosette tabby pattern. The most common color is brown but some other colors including pink, purple, and green. Although this cat does seem to have a temper, it does not like to share its home with other animals and it strongly dislikes people. I quickly went out to purchase my own pixie bob at my local pet-smart. As you can see, this book has brought out an angry cat named Jim into my life. Although this cat tends to bite me, I always forgive her when I see her short, nubby tail. Thank you.
This reference guide has beautiful full color photos of the most adorable cats. We are having fun learning the breeds...didn't know there were so many. Very intresting!
Thank you! A great replacement for our elementary school's library's copy that was not in such good shape.
Excellent little guide to most cat breeds; simple to use (cats organized by long- and short-haired) and informative. I love the summary of characteristics, so if you're looking for a cat that's good with children, it's easy to see if a particular breed is or not.
