This book is filled with random pieces of information on how to clean things. Some of it I thought could be applicable to my house, some of it not so much. Who keeps Tang and club soda in the house? Because apparently you can use that to clean your toilet in a pinch. I was looking for a book that would tell me specifically the best way to clean something, and this wasn't really the book for that. Jan 05, 2009 Phoebe rated it liked it.

I have been doing laundry for almost 50 years. Recently lots of stains seemed to be staying on my clothes. This great little book seems to have helped me solve this problem. There are recipes for easy to make spot removers for several kinds of stain. The one for blood removed what I think was a blood stain that had been on a pillow case for quite a while. If you are not a laundry genius, I highly recommend this book.

I have had this book for a very long time and have given it to my kids and now to my granddaughter

Instead of googling, why not have this handy reference. I read it awhile ago. Don't remember if it had a clothing label guide (like for all the crazy symbols) or gave opinions on what type of machines to use.

Was very disappointed in this book. The original version was wonderful with homemade remedies for all cleaning purposes. This version, however, wants you to buy all kinds of products (which the author sells) and no longer gives the homemade recipes for the cleaning compounds.

The book was a disappointment. The author tries to sell you her products to clean things. I was hoping the book gave homemade remedies.

I've had this book for many years and have referred to it often- I just got it for my godson to help him with laundry and other stain issues

Great go to book for all the messes you can get in to. I use it a lot!!
This is my new go-to guide. I am a stain magnet. I have ruined countless amounts of clothes, but no more! I've already used a few of the suggestions with positive results. Who knew vinegar had so many uses?!
