Nancy Fairbrother (1913–1971) was an English writer and lecturer on landscape and land use. She was a Member of the UK Institute of Landscape Architects, now the Landscape Institute. Her brother (James Alick (Rex) Fairbrother) was also a landscape architect. Fairbrother was born in Coventry, England, and attended the University of London, graduating with honours in English.

Nan Fairbrother argues that since the patterns of our lives have changed, profoundly, it is necessary to facilitate evolution of the surrounding landscape. The photographs and captions in her book reveal a keen observation and ready wit. Her brother, Rex Fairbrother, taught landscape architecture at Manchester and then in Australia. Nan Fairbrother also wrote a book on Men and gardens.

It's safe to say that most of these titles aren't books about gardens, but the core commonality between these books is that they have the word garden in the title. Books with garden in the title include The Secret Garden by Frances Hodgson Burnett, Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil by John Berendt, and Peter Pan in Kensington Gardens by J. M. Barrie. It doesn't matter if it's science fiction, fantasy, romance, or non-fiction - if the book has garden in the name,.
