I started this study course and have really enjoyed learning about how to go from good quilts to great quilts. That light within is explained and easy to recreate for my own creations.

I enjoyed Ms. Horton's talk about color and Amish quilts on Alex Anderson's "Simply Quilts." So I bought the book thinking there would be a lot more information. Yes, she does have some color info and pictures of Amish style quilts, but the actual color illustrations are limited and positioned in the middle of the book. It would have been more helpful to have had several color examples along side the info and explanations given.
I don't buy a book about color to see black and white diagrams.

Great book on color study. Enjoyable just to look through for inspiration

Your description said it was only a copy of the original book, but I was so disappointed when I got it as I want
to use our color schemes in making a quilt.

I had seen this book and wanted a copy for my library. At some point I want to make an Amish quilt, and this book will be helpful when the time comes!
I first used this book in 1998, when I spent several months exploring Amish quilts, making a collection of miniatures. The book is outstanding in its explanations and instructions. Unlike another reviewer, I found the black and white illustrations most helpful, as they demonstrate the importance of contrast in Amish quilting: that is not always so easy to discern in colored illustrations. I have amassed a large and growing collection of Amish texts, but this is still the one I turn to most often.
