I'm an IT professional and have been reading the new crop of books on Exchange Server 2003. I have to admit, many of the books out there are disappointing but this WAS NOT one of them. I can not express how helpful this book was to me. I can not think of a chapter in this book that I did not learn something from. William Stanek has done an outstanding job with this book. Exchange 2003 Administrator's Pocket Consultant" provides excellent coverage of Exchange essentials. The information is clear, well organized and focusd on what an administrator needs to know.

As an NT4/2000 admin, this has been all I needed to get myself up to speed with XP. This book focuses on key aspects of day to day XP use and administration--you won't find coverage of hardware requirements and installation procedures, nor will you find exhaustive white papers masquerading as psuedo-documentation. I used to hate MS Press offerings, but the pocket consultant series has allowed me leave the 'bibles' and resource kits at home. I keep the OS and Exhange consultants on my desk and have actually started re-reading some of them for pleaure just to keep from forgetting some of the stuff I don't utilize daily on the job. I've even gotten some of my early adopting power users to buy and use this book.
If you're studying for certs or need in depth info for design research/general reference, buy a bible book, resource kit, or cert guide for the minutia and specific testing guidelines. But buy this book too because it's small and lightweight and is like set of XP Cliff notes.
Amazon says I bought this back in 2004. So I guess I did use it, pocket size book
This book has allowed me to correct several start up issues and to fine tune our home computer. It now runs faster and smoother with little if any lag time. Web searches are even faster.

Great for an amateur like me or even a professional (who suggested it to me).

I purchased this book based on it's previous reviews. However, after following the instructions, I'm afraid it didn't help me at all!
I'm hoping it will come in handy in the future.
For the price and quality I would recommend.
I really found this book to have great content with logical organization. My only complaint is that the quality of the binding on this book is poor.

This is a shame because it is the type of book you will want to refer to often.
