Years ago I diligently pursued obtaining a copy of D.A. Carson's "God's Sovereignty and Man's Responsibility". I finally obtained the book. It was a version of Carson's thesis or other scholarly treatise. Carson, a genius, wrote to a very select audience of theologians. I am certain Carson's work is wonderful but it was far above my level of comprehension. Acting the Miracle addresses the same issue, balancing our action with our faith in God's sovereignty; however, it is not a theoretical or technical treatise. It is offers clear hands on practical advice and imparts useful understanding. Don't miss the panel discussion at the end. Highly recommended for someone on this quest.

This is taken from a conference series by the authors. It’s good to hear different men on different aspects of sanctification

The chapter by Ed Welch is worth the price of the book alone. Piper's breakdown in the final chapter that ties it all together is worthy of meditation. Good help in growing in holiness.

And then there is "food" which is actually energizing. Piper has done it again and the service was equal to the order.
