The Father Connection - Josh McDowell. You can make all the difference in your child's self-esteem, regard for others, and sense of purpose. The Most Rewarding Job in the World. Although I began the experience of fatherhood with a less than perfect example in my own father, I have been blessed to know and learn from a series of models and mentors through the years. In no time, these little changes will make a significant difference in your relationships with your children. Also, keep in mind that no matter how hard we try, most of us will never feel completely satisfied with our parenting. So make a conscious effort to redirect this dissatisfaction into steps for growth instead of occasions to become discouraged or depressed. Third, determine to dedicate yourself to the privilege and responsibility of fathering.

As a young man, Josh McDowell considered himself an agnostic. He truly believed that Christianity was worthless. However, when challenged to intellectually examine the claims of Christianity, Josh discovered compelling, overwhelming evidence for the reliability of the Christian faith. After trusting in Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord, Josh’s life changed dramatically as he experienced the power of God’s love. After his conversion, his plans for law school turned instead to plans to tell a doubting world about the truth of Jesus Christ. He and his wife Dottie have been married 40 years. They have four children and five grandchildren. Not when you can say the book is better.

Thought provoking and well worth reading. Wish I had read this 40 years ago, to help me be the Godly father for my young kids. I even sent two of these to my son and son-in-law since they both have youngsters at home. Josh McDowell is one of my favorite authors, and teaches you how to be a better dad, and brings attention the things that your heavenly father does for you. He helps take an honest look at their life and teaches you how to tap into God's power, and with Gods help you will be a better father.

This book is full of great advice and really reminds you of how important it is to spend time with your kids. I can only read a couple of pages at a time because I just want to get up and play with my kids everytime I pick it up! It also helped me to see the opportunities that exist everyday to build our kids into children who love God. You will love this book!
