I was really hoping to like this series. I have a ten year old grandson with ADHD. I found it to be depressing. The "special education " classroom Joey is sent to seems like a punishment. The teacher does not like Joey so off he goes to the principal's office and then the "children with special needs" room.
Combine this with an extremely dysfunctional family and there's nothing uplifting about the book.
I realize that some love this series but my grandson is an anxious child who is coping with ADHD. The books would have had a negative effect.
Back to Amazon it went!

Book was for my son to learn that others are like him. Family and actions of Joey not representative of our family. The boy is very rude

These Joey books are so good and my 11-year old loves reading them with me. Very helpful for parents with kids that are just discovering that they have ADHD and/or learning differences.
