????????????????????????
Anatole is a mouse who goes into the human world at night to find food for his family. One night he overhears what humans think about mice and decides he will help instead of being a freeloader. He goes to the cheese factory and rates their cheeses, leaving notes on how to improve them. The cheese factory increases its sales. Anatole remains anonymous.

I enjoyed this story. It is fun. I like Anatole's solution and his comments on the cheese. I think the Disney movie, Ratatouille, is somewhat based on this book. The kids will enjoy it

I remember how much I loved this book when I was a child over 50 years ago. Recently when I had to bring a book for a niece's baby shower I bought this. It is a sweet story that teaches the importance of family and work. The other Anatole books are great too.

My dad read the Anatole books to me when I was a kid. Now, I read them both for myself (when I'm feeling nostalgic, or want a lighter read) and to my "everything-is-boring" computer-obsessed 11 year old stepdaughter. These books are one of the very few ways I can distract her from the internet. When I offer to read one to her, she eagerly shuts the computer lid and hustles over. The books are just the right length, and Anatole can also (subtly) teach values of honor, honesty, selflessness, and nobility.

We love Anatole! A smart and honorable mouse finds a way to make an honest living by becoming a secret cheese expert who leaves cheese flavor notes in a French cheese factory. PA Hausfrau says: "Vive la France! Vive Anatole!" I had this book as a child and now I buy it for other children.

I read this book to my son many years ago; he loved it (I did, also)! He is now a grandfather. Just recently, I found this book available on Kindle and downloaded it. I read it to a second-grade class - and they loved it! It is a very good book!
