The Brontes by Catherine Brighton

Catherine Brighton is the author of Mozart - Scenes From the Childhood of the Great Composer, Five Secrets in a Box, Nijinsky and Dear Grandmam This volume is an introduction to one of literature's most interesting households. The Bronte children invented their own charmed universe in the remote parsonage at Haworth. Charlotte Bronte describes their secret childhood world. I really liked this book. It is a picture book for children, meant to introduce them to the Brontes. The illustrations are beautiful, and convey the world the Brontes grew up in without making it too dark. I loved how the narritive was written from the viewpoint of Charlotte as a child. This helps children to relate to her and her siblings, and learn to be creative through writing and storytelling from an early age. This is a great book to increase a child's curiosity about classic literature, an I really liked this book.
