Alan Archambault, Jill Canon. Outstanding! The civil war comes alive before your eyes! The illustrations along with the riveting content make this book, in my opinion a must for all children. The civil war is made to come alive right before a childs eyes and captures the very essence of this period of American History. My children loved the book and has sparked a further interest in Lincoln, other wars involving the United States, and a general interest in how our nation was formed.

I surely wish these women's stories had been included in my history classes. I wonder if they are even these days. Far too seldom do we learn of the contributions of women.

The pictures are well drawn and easy to color and the stories that accompany them are likewise well written.

I knew virtually about none of these women prior to this book.

I think this is a very important book for both girls and boys to have.

As an adult colorist I enjoyed learning more history about my country and also enjoyed coloring the pictures.

Loved being able to introduce our kids to important women in history. Often, schools focus heavily on men in history, so it's great for daughters to see that women did amazing things right along side the men.
