About book: This book is about Junie B. Jones cheating off this girl's homework because she forgot to do her homework for the weekend. Barbara Park has never failed at keeping my smile in check as I read her delightful stories. They're works that should be considered masterpieces, and if a first and second graders' opinions were to count as good as the president's, I'm sure they would be. As a lonely second grader venturing into a new school, I sought solace in reading, the only place where it was quiet and magical at the same time was the library, the only section that didn't seem daunting with all the older grades hovering around its shelves was the "First Chapter Books" section.

I purchased several sets of beginning level chapter books for my third grade classroom. I wanted to have some reading groups that had students of different levels in them. The higher level students didn't mind reading Junie B because she is funny. The lower level readers were able to keep up with everyone in the group. They were happy too. One of the surprises of doing this was that my top readers were catching the foreshadowing clues about events to happen. Then the whole group would talk about the situation. It was fun to see the girls really get into a book discussion with little adult supervision. I also selected this book because we had some "cheater pants" in the classroom. We could talk about Junie B's cheating and cheating in general without mentioning anyone else's name. I would recommend this book.
Barbara Park knew how to capture the funny, innocent, social awkwardness of being young. Junie B is every parent's nightmare. She is not a naughty child. She is simply learning how to navigate in a big world full of unwritten rules about what a first grader should and shouldn't say and do.
The story is simple and well written. The vocabulary is great for an early reader.

I have to admit I am not fond of Junie's tart little sayings at times. I do not allow my kids to use words like "stupid" which are thrown around liberally in the book. I have made clear to my kids they can read Junie B, but if I ever hear Junie B-ish words coming from their mouths, Junie B will find herself at the half price bookstore on the corner.
She is sassy, yet sweet. Her attitude is annoying, but it got my daughter loving to read and became an addiction. We own them all.
I love this book. I am an elementary school counselor and I have had more than a few students cheat on a test. This is a fun and easy read and a good way to bring up the subject of cheating with students.
My 4th Grade students love Junie B Jones. We have all 28 volumes and lost this one.
we were able to reorder it.
Book came as described. My daughter has recently really gotten into reading the Junie B. Jones books so I ordered several for Christmas and was pleasantly surprised that they arrived before Christmas. Very fast shipping! Great set of books for your child learning chapter books.
This book is really cute and great for children, and the way little Junie B. Jones talks it's a sweet book you won't want to put down (as children of course). One thing I might change is the class topics. First graders are not learning confusing poems and using dictionaries, especially not at that age.
